Scar Tissue????????

Hello Ladies !!!!! I had a TAH on April25th all went well. One problem has not subsided though..... I have had a pain in my lower right groin area close to my thigh since my surgery. Everday it hurts like a very deep pain. Today I called my GYN and he told me to come in. Upon examination he said that it could be scar tissue pressing on a nerve.. He said that in time it should subside. Me question is did anyone else ever experience this? At the end of the day i could hardly move my leg. Thanks for all your input. GIGI

Scar Tissue????????

Ouch Gigi. I've never heard of that before. Why don't you pop over to the "road less traveled" section and see if anyone there has heard of that.

If it continues...I'd sure call gyn. back and ask for it to be checked...and not just wait for it to go away.

You might also use search engine at the top and search by keywords "scar tissue"...that may give you some additional posts to read.

What is "Members Contest"?

All of a sudden I've started seeing this on all the thread's. What's up? Is this a complaint someone is putting on every single thread on this message board or is there some contest going on?

If this is because of a disgruntled sister, I sure hope my emotions don't get flared up like this since my hyst - I'll be looking for another employer and DH.

No one ever said that there is sound medical advice on these boards - just a sharing of experiences and personal knowledge.

Scar Tissue????????

Hi!
This may not be the same thing at all, but I have had pain and some restricted movement in my left leg. The pain started in the groin area and eventually I also felt it on the outside of the same hip. Talked to my doctor who referred me to an orthopedic doctor. He took some xrays to check things out. I am now doing physical therapy and am much improved. The explanation I got (in my words), from the physical therapist, was that the surgery most probably put a strain on the ligaments "inside" by the hip. When ligaments get inflamed, they tend to share and pass it on, so it moved out to include the groin area and so on. I started with some specific stretches, and am now including some strength exercises. I can't believe the difference. Not 100%, but much improved both from pain and in flexibility.
I had a TAH/BSO in March, and a D&C in late January. I think the irritation started with the D&C and just got worse.
This may be totally different, but the PT said they often see problems after people have had major abdominal surgery so if it seems to be that kind of pain, you might want to give it a thought.
Good luck!
