Still on Hormone Pellets - New Concerns?
I will be going back for my third insertion on Thursday of this week. I have gone four months this time.
My last dose was 3 estrogens totaling 75 mg and 75mg testosterone. My only concern was that I slept more with the increased estrogen but seemed to have more energy and pep when I has less estrogen and also with less estrogen, the testosterone was more potent!
Does anyone have any suggestions or concerns that I may need to know before my visit on Thursday? I have really enjoyed the pellets but dread forking out the money, although it's worth the sacrifice. Any secrets on getting insurance to cover???
My weight has really gone done and I'm not even dieting. I attribute it to the pellets maybe because that's the only thing that I'm doing differently. Since using them, my appetite seems to have decreased. I love it!
Also, does anyone take vitamins along with the pellets? What type? I feel so normal that I've not taken any vitamins although I still take my Fish Oil when I think about it.
Any input would be appreciated.

 Patty,
Maybe you don't need quite as much estrogen as you received on the last insert. If you felt better on the lower doseage perhaps you should ask your doctor about going back to that doseage.
Regardless of the type of hrt you use, supplements are still necessary. Calcium and magnesium are very important for bone heath. Have you had a bone density scan? You can read more about supplements in this article Necessary Supplements
I'm glad to hear you're doing well.

Still on Hormone Pellets - New Concerns?
Hi there Patty,
I am glad to hear you are having good results from the pellet. But before you get your next set input it is very important that the doctor do a blood panel to see what your numbers are with everything ok. Wishing you the best of luck always and happy days

Still on Hormone Pellets - New Concerns?
Hi Patty,
I am glad to hear you are having good luck with pellets. I am on my third insert and have had no luck so far at getting insurance to pay for them. Doesn't really matter to me because they are worth it!!!
I do take several supplements...Vitamin B complex, E, D, calcium and magnesium and Dim.
Congrats on your weight loss!! I have also lost weight since being on pellets.
Hope your doctor appt goes well.

Still on Hormone Pellets - New Concerns?
Thanks Kim, Netter, and car43. Maybe I'll get a multi-vitamin and see how I feel.
I had my appt on yesterday and had my pellets inserted on the same side they were last time. Has anyone done this before?
car, I'd be interested to know if you still use your vaginal cream? I haven't found the need to do any of that.

Patty -
My doc alternates sides. I still use the vaginal cream about once a week. Was using it around 3 times a week when I was on the patch.

car43,
My dr alternates also, but I have a little backache on my left side and felt a bit uneasy with him doing anything on that side, so he assured me that it would not be a problem to do it on the right side again. Hope that's right.
Of course, I could have had in done in the front, but no.
I still keep my prescription of cream but just hadn't used it in a while. Guess I'll see what a difference it makes.
Thanks for your quick response. BTW, I made my drs office file a claim for yesterday. They had not been filing claims because they said insurance wouldn't pay, but I called my insurance last week and they said they would. So, we'll see what the outcome will be.

Basically, it's hormones in the form of a pellet. The pellets are inserted beneath the skin and dissolve over time, releasing the hormones. You can Google the term if you would like to learn more about this method of hormone therapy.
