),and I have ( 2 ) thingies ( ha ha ha ) on my right ovary that is giving me pain. My OB/GYN has not offered anything 4 pain,& I won't ask :O( But any way my question is would you guys have an oncologist/GYN in the operating room or not ? My surgery is July 1 2008 Tuesday. Don't have a lot of time to think about it what with ALL else that is going on : O( I would just like you girls opinion . What would you do ?

Shortest answer I have ever given..."yes." Try to have a gynecological oncologist do the surgery, or at least be very present at the time of surgery. Sorry to hear about your other physical troubles. Hopefully you will feel better real soon.

Best to you. - Terri

PS: I stopped smoking at the time of my surgery 2 years ago. I smoked for 30 years prior. Just wanted to let you know it is very doable especially coming out of this type of surgery. Good luck with this too!

hi samantha...first of all, that's great news that the colon polyps were found and removed before they became malignant. i agree with terri, you should have a gyn/onc either do the surgery or be present. with all the problems you've had, you want the best qualified surgeon to operate and have a good look around. a gyn/onc is the best qualified in that area. please let us know how it goes. best wishes to you.

YES! Even If there is the slightest chance it could be cancer!

Samantha,

I hope it reassures you to hear that I have had three pre-cancerous polyps removed. Seven years ago, they found three polyps and two were pre-cancerous. Three years ago, they found two polyps and one was pre-cancerous. All were found during routine colonscopies. As much as I dislike the prep, I make sure to have my colonscopy when the doctor tells me to.

Samantha,

I don't have to have another colonoscopy until 2010. I have had no signs of polyps in the colon since the last colonoscopy, but then I didn't have any signs for the others, either.

BTW I had a cyst on my ovary that was causing pain, too, and it was benign.
