Okay, I'm Ready for My Reality Check Now

The waiting is killing me, and making me numb to the idea of having a hysterectomy. But I am 18 days from go time, and two weeks from pre-op. I know pre-op is going to help me sooo much. Just growing impatient. I had my last laparoscopy on 1/30/08, and found out I was having that surgery on 12/13/07. Don't think that time period felt this long. But alas, the day will come and all will be well. Things will be looking up!!

Waiting is the hardest part but it will definitely be worth the wait in the long run! Good luck to you!

I'm right there with you Crovak! I am 13 days out and my pre-op is Monday. I just got the reminder call from the doctor's office. I'm torn between freaking out about how much I need to get done before then and wishing it were today so I could get it over with! I guess the good thing is I have so much to do that I'll be busy and won't have a lot of time to think about it....

Oh yea... my husband keeps riding me on how much I need to clean before then too. But I'm a procrastinator. I probably won't clean until the week before. Hahahaha!

Crovak:

I don't have a husband, so I will just live vicariously and chastise your's on your behalf...

If he rides you about cleaning, hand the man a mop! LOL!

I was just thinking maybe I'll make a checklist (yup, OCD - that's me!) and then I'll feel a little better every time I check one thing off the list. You can do that too - only make two columns one for you and one for your man. Hey, maybe you can compete to see who checks off more boxes... Tell him for every box you beat him by, you get one extra week of pampering after the event.

Hmmm.... Now that I read this back, I'm beginning to think maybe it's no wonder I don't have a husband of my own. (he, he, he).

I know exactly how you feel. My surgery is the same day as yours. My pre-op is on Monday. (6/9) I have done alittle shopping for myself. But I have not started cleaning or cooking and freezing meals for my family to eat during my recovery. Good luck with your surgery. You will have to let me know how you are doing.

I too had my reality check(more of a melt down today). I did the make a list thing and ran out of stuff on the list to do. I am now coming up with new things to do to keep me busy until the big day. Best wishes on your surgery.

Okay, I'm Ready for My Reality Check Now

Hmm. Seems like June 24th is going to be a busy day for several of us.

I've been doing so much preparation (even getting my oil changed and car inspected tomorrow morning), that I feel like I'm going through that "nesting" thing that women do when they're pregnant. I've bought new sheets and pillows for the bed, ordered about 20 books from Amazon, as well as several A-line dresses that won't rub on my belly.

Next week comes the cleaning madness!
