Pain Specialist?

I finally talked to my gyn about the pain still being on the right side. He's concerned that it may be nerve endings or something like that? Said he needs a couple of days to research a treatment plan. Want's to make sure whatever meds he prescribes aren't going to interact with the ones I'm already on. He want's to set me up with a pain specialist. Has anyone else seen a pain specialist for pelvic pain? If so, what did they do for you? Thanks in advance!

Pain Specialist?

I go to a pain clinic for pelvic/low back pain, they monitor your pain meds, make you try phy. therapy(didnt help me), try some kind of exercize swimming or walking)They had me try nerve pain meds , like topamax, nortriptiline, cmbalta, none of which worked, maybe see a pysch dr, to deal with chronic pain. I had to go once a month to start and now go every 3 months, just to talk and get refills.
Im having a laporotomy on 6/16 and hope that helps, so i dont have to take pain meds all the time?
Some pain places want to do injections, i did not do it, i dont believe it helps deep pelvic pain ,where are the putting the shot?
