Is white wine considered "clear liquid"?

my pre-op instructions say no alcohol as it can make one bleed more. and bleeding during surgery is a bad thing.
but check with your doc to be sure.
good luck sister, see you on the other side when I get there. one month and counting.
hugs me

I'd want a glass of wine for my nerves alone lol. I think klonopin or xanax should be a pre-op med hehehe.

Very best wishes to you as you continue your prep in advance of your surgery, spinkydink. Alcohol of any sort can interfere with the way that your body will react to anesthesia. It might seem as if one small glass would not hurt, but the way that alcohol works in our blood vessels can really alter the effects of the drugs they use to keep us "under." I stopped having anything alcoholic for four weeks prior to my surgery. It takes awhile for the effects of alcohol to depart our systems. That's why most pre-op instructions prohibit any alcoholic beverages. Good wishes to you for your upcoming surgery.

You mean NO alcohol before surgery?!!? How long before? First they say no ibuprofen for pain, then no alcohol. I agree with liveanother day.. they should give out xanex with the pre-op instructions!
