blood work and estrogen levels, how do you know what is normal?

I recently had my doctor do some blood work and asked her to check my estrogen levels as I was trying to figure out if I am where I should be. She sent me a copy of results and said my level was fine but I really could not understand the results. I had a level of 78??? anyone else have their levels checked and what is considered normal??

What exactly did you have checked? There are three different estrogens. Was it Estradiol? What were the reference ranges on the test results? One thing to keep in mind is that there really isn't one set level where we will all feel the same. If you're doing fine, than 78 is probably a good level for you.

I had my estrogen level checked recently and it was 95. My doctor said the range is so big that it is hard to interpret because different people feel good on different levels. She did say 95 was okay though, at least it is not considered low.

I read that a level under 20 is considered menopausal. In normal menstrating women, estrogen can range from 40-300, depending on the cycle. When I had my ovaries and I was ovulating, my estrogen was in the 200 range.

I had my estradiol level checked and it was 55, which they said was fine. Again, though, it can fluctuate from day to day, hour to hour. It's a good indicationg that the estrogen therapy is working.
