Has anyone had trouble finding the right meds?

After 3 weeks post-op on Premarin it was killing me. My stomach was so bad I eventually had bleeding. I got off for 1 week and dr. put me on Estradiol 2mg. So far no stomach problems. I have been on it for 2 weeks now, but today I started having arthritic like pain and feel like I'm getting sick. Has anyone had trouble finding the right meds?

Hi!

It can be hard to find the right hormone therapy--the right dose, method of delivery and even the right combination of hormones in some cases. Unfortunately, it's not a one size fits all deal and many of us go through a lot of trial and error in our search for the right hormone therapy.

If you have trouble with oral estrogen, you could ask your doctor about transdermal estrogen choices. For example, I use Vivelle Dot which is a patch version of the same bio-identical estradiol (estrogen) you are using in pill form now. Here's a link that has several articles about estrogen choices: Hormone Jungle Articles.

Don't hesitate to let your doctor know about the symptoms you are having. I hope you feel better soon.
