Long Road Home

I'm not sure where this post should go so I'm putting it here. My TAH went very well. The doctor told my daughter that it was uneventfuful and the uterus and cervix came right out.The ovaries stayed. He took the pic of the alien that has been living inside of me and gave to to my dd. Man was that thing big! Well I woke up in pain but they took care of if. I became very nauseous (sp) later that day but didn't think much of it. The next day I had an ekg because my bp was unstable and heart rate was elevated. The cardiolgist asked if I bled alot during surgery. How should I know I said. The concern was that my blood count was 6.1 and it was a 14 when I had surgery. He ordered blood and CAT scan. During the nite I woke and all these nurses and a doctor I didn't know were at my bed side .......my blood pressure dropped to 69/42. Now Im scared! More blood and another CAT scan. My Surgeon said he was going back in because I was bleeding into the belly. I woke up with a drainage tube in the pevic area. The next two days I spent recovering in the hospital and luckily I had a private room. By Sunday I was stable and ready to come home. My Homecoming was horrendous. For those of you who remember my "after care" post well my fears were more than justified. I was treated so bad in my own home. but I wont go into details right now. I also developed pain around where my intravenious med were and it was so painful and rock hard. Not just at the site but half way up my upper arm. I was put and antibiotics and given a laser treatment and its so much better.

I can understand not getting the care you needed from your family when you got home. Unfortunately, some people are not good caregivers. My h is not a good caregiver, but fortunately my best friend was. I hope you are healing better now and you have no more problems.
