I know what you mean. I actually lost 20 lbs since the surgery and right now I'm 120 lbs at 5'7" which is normally very thin for me and my stomach looks pregnant. Back a few years ago when I was this weight my stomach was flat. From what I've read on the board swelly belly can go on for up to a year off and on.
I am having the same problem with swelly belly, in fact I think it's worse now than it was at 6 - 8 weeks! I finally called the dr's office yesterday with a list of "issues". I have an appt to see him on Fri. Don't know if I've spent too much time on the internet and am now imaging things or if there is truly something going on! I don't expect to be perfectly flat but I thought I'd be much flatter by this point. I'm almost as big as I was before the operation! Very frustrating!
I had my surgery the day after yours and I still get swelly belly. They say it takes a while. I notice it is more pronounced the days I am on my feet more (I am an xray tech and there some days that are busier than others). I try to sit as much as I can in between and that seems to help. The first thing I do when I get home is sit in my recliner and put my feet up. I stay there for about 30 min.-1 hour before starting dinner. Hang in there.
I have an appt. tomorrow and I will ask about the swelly issue... I am about 4" larger iin the waist than I was pre-surgery... In one week, I will be 5 months out... I walk almost every day and do some light yoga... It seems my rolls have rolls :-)
I still have the swelling. Okay in the morning and by the end of the day, swollen. BUT it is not as bad as a month ago or two months ago...Just going very, very.....very....very slowly.....My waist is still 4 inches bigger than pre-surgery. BUT I lost 2 inches from last month. Progress....
