Wow! Two weeks seems quick. This will be very different though, internally. Take it easy and slow so your insides heal well.

Anyway----BEST WISHES and please take it easy! I'm ok really, I am just in a hurry because just a few minutes ago I realized I forgot to turn my clocks back now I have too much to do in too little time! See Ya.

Yea, I figure this time will be a lot worse. I'm taking 8 weeks off of work. Figure I'll need it!
Did you have a TT during your Hyster. too?

Yeah, the Plastic Surg. did the cut and some lypo, my gyn did her thing, and PS finished up. When I came to I felt wonderful, but then all ____ broke loose that night. The nurse did not keep up on my pain meds. I did not have the morphine pump, I had it given to me through an insertion spot in my IV. I did not know that I had to ask for it until it was to late and I was behind on them and in pain. That nurse was crappy. All of the other shifts, I specifically asked the nurse to PLEASE bring it every 2 hours on the hour. So please remember to have your doc specifically notify the nurses on the instruction sheet to keep up with your pain meds. The rest of the nurses were great. I had no problems with the cath. I asked to get up the next day and everything went ok when they took it out. It was nice though, not having to get up all the time to pee. I drank lots of water and cranberry juice. Then ,of course you know you cannot lay back very far, well, my tailbone hurt. The first night and my sore tailbone was the big problems. I am doing very good now. Went back to work at 6 wks. (just last week) Took it show both physically and mentally. I was so stressed out before the hyst. I do NOT want to get that way again. It felt good getting back into the swing of things.

Wow! Just last week, huh? What do you do for a living? I'm an office manager for a dental office, so I'm up and down all day long.
Can I ask how old you are?
And sorry, but I don't remember....was this an inital TT or a revision?

Anyone out there getting a tuck too?
Hi Lafalot,
Yeah, this is my second week back. It's pretty good actually. Gets my mind of it. I am the administrator/municipal clerk and registrar of vital statistics for my hometown commuity. I turned 45 in Feb. This was an initial TT. Just curious, what's the cause for a revision? Did you lose or gain weight or something?

Anyone out there getting a tuck too?
Hi Ladies,
So glad I found this thread. I had my SAH (kept ovaries and cervix) & full TT on 1/29/09. I feel good and haven't taken a pain med since my first night home. My DH and kids have been doing everything around the house for me (DH's rules LOL). My gyno will only let me walk still as far as exercise goes and I can drive. PS says I can do anything I want. Who ever tells me I can't do something that's what I follow. My question is have any of you felt a dull throbbing feeling in your groin area if you've done too much. I am trying to do more around the house ( cleaning things that the rest of the family doesn't think about like the outside of the kitchen cabinets, doors and walls where hands touch etc). I did all of that the other day and knew that I overdid it because my stomach did swell and hurt. I've gotten the throbbing feeling from just walking (only a mile a day) and simple wiping up sinks and counters. I also get occational twinges right below my rib area. Do any of you get this? It seems to happen on the right side of my body only. My intestine was adhered to my uterus on that side so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I see my DR. next week for my 6 week check up.
Lafalot maybe since you have had just the TT maybe you can shed some light on how your body felt after having it done so that the rest of us will know the difference between the hyst. and TT. I figured the tight burning feeling in my stomach right after surgery was from the TT. Sorry if I rambled on. It helps to have others to compare feelings with. Thanks.
Patty

Let me first state that every person's post op experience is different and everyone's pain tolerence is also different. "How bad is bad" depends on you. I will say that I have never had a moment of regret that I had the TT done!
I had a TAH and TT with muscle repair three mos ago. I found the worst days were in the first week after I got home. So I guess days 5 - 9 or so POST-OP. It may have to do with trying to adapt the home environment to accomodate post op needs i.e. sleeping in a recliner, using my arms instead of my abs for getting up + down, etc. Having this surgery was much different for me than when I had c-sections. I have four kids (twins naturally then two c-sections) My last c-sect was 4 yrs ago. After this surgery, I seemed to have more pain than with child bearing. Not really sure why. I know that I needed pain meds more than I ever did. Despite the fact that I am not a medicine taker in general.
All of this to say...let your Mom stay as long as she can. If you need to take pain meds, you will not be the attentive mother of trouble seeking toddlers that they may need you to be. Trust me, I've been there! Also, being the only one around who can lift the little ones up and down can put you in a bad situation for quite some time. Even after I was pain free and took my almost four yr old shopping, I was not able to lift her onto the toilet or lift her to wash her hands or drink from a fountain. Wet wipes and hand sanitizer and bottled water saved the day!!!
Will you be having muscle repair done also?
