Vaginal Vault prolapse??
I am 3 mo post hyst and bladder sling and after sex one day last week I started to feel like my vagina was trying to fall out. Upon "feeling around down there" with my fingers it all felt... wrong, like my vaginal walls were squooshed up close to the end of my vagina. Plus I started a raging yeast infection that day too. It's been 5 days and no change (YI getting better slowly with meds) I'm totally wigged out and am calling my Dr in the morning.
I was lax about doing Kegels (surprise surprise), but I did do them sporadically. I'm doing them every day now.
I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what they did/ was done about it.
I have zero peeing/ bowel problems.

Vaginal Vault prolapse??
Fae--
Did you call your Dr. yesterday? What did s/he say? Sometimes having a hysterectomy makes us much more aware of everything else going on in our pelvic area. Sometimes it can take residual swelling a little longer than normal to go completely away. (It took me 6 months to have my bladder stop being irritated by my TOT after my original hyst--ugh. But it finally did settle down, thank goodness!)
Will you be going in for an exam by your doctor soon? Please let us know what you find out. I do hope you feel better asap.
Sending many +++ thoughts and good vibes.......

Vaginal Vault prolapse??
I don't think it was swelling, I think it was vigorous sex without enough Lube. My pelvic ligaments are very sore both front and back, and hte slouchy feeling is getting better. Both may be from near constant kegels I'm doing and that my YI is tons better. I did call the Dr.s office, but didn't talk to him. I have an appt next wednesday which if I keep improving I may cancel. I'll also be seeing a nurse practioner sometime next week about my blood work for hormones, I can also ask her to check me out then, just to have some feedback.

Vaginal Vault prolapse??
Hi Fae,
just thought I'd chime in since I was diagnosed with a grade 2 vaginal vault prolapse about 2 months ago. I am actually a year and 4 mths post hyst, but developed what I thought was just a rectocele about two weeks after my surgery. I saw a urogyn for the diagnosis and decided to give a pessary a try. I have no major problems with bowel movements as long as I eat plenty of fiber and drink lots of water. I also manage to keep the urine leakage under control as long as I don't do constant hard, jarring movements. My major problem has been lower back pain, but after seeing the dr. and using the pessary we have determined that the pain is caused by some sort of nerve damage from the surgery.
I am going to be monitered annually. I was told that I should absolutely NOT lift over 20lbs. Also no straining during bowel movements as these two actions are what cause the prolapse to worsen. I use my pessary sporadically- a week on if I feel like the pelvic pressure is worse than normal from exercising too much. After about a week (and taking it easier on my body) I can take the pessary out and usually feel fine.
Good luck to you- I hope your dr. can give you some answers!
Dawn
