LAVH, Ovaries left in ?

Will I still have PMS meaning breast tenderness, etc if i didn't have my ovaries taken out?

Also, not to be stupid but is there now an empty hole on top of my vagina or did they close that off? I have yet to ask my doc and was wondering what you were told after surgery. I envision a huge black hole.........lol

If you had your cervix removed they make a vaginal cuff (close off the top of the vagina). I understand that it doesn't change the size of the vagina enough to notice.

((Chocobear)) is quite right ~ you'll have a vaginal cuff if the cervix was removed. You can read more about it in our HS article <link> Vaginal Cuff.

I kept my ovaries and my PMS remains unchanged. Some ladies find it improves, however, but for others it worsens ~ it really depends. Looking on the bright side, at least I know they're still working.
