Got 2nd Opinion - Anyone have ablation and tubal at same time?
Well, I got my second opinion and between my current doctor and the 2nd opinion of my doctor I had for almost 12 years here is my solution:
I am scheduled for surgery on the 23rd of this month. I am going in for a D&C, hysterscopy, ablation, and a laproscopic tubal ligation all at once.
Has anyone else done all this at once? I am wondering about recovery time, etc...

Yes, I did. My doctor insisted upon it, actually, because she said that she would not do an ablation without a tubal. She said that with an ablation, it is possible to become pregnant, but that the uterus cannot hold a pregnancy, thereby creating more problems. Anyway....the down time was about three or four days. I mean, I could function, etc, but was sore (gassy pains in my shoulders mainly). It was summer so no work issues (on vacation), but if I recall -- surgery on Thursday, able to have worked by Monday.
Good luck

Ablation + Tubal
Hi,
I had a Novasure ablation, D&C, hysteroscopy and laproscopic tubal ligation all done at the same time. (My doc also insisted on permanent BC with the ablation) I went in on a Friday morning, and went home Friday afternoon. I was out of it Friday night, tired on Saturday, but on my feet by Sunday. I took Monday off, worked half-a-day at my desk on Tuesday. I wasn't going to be running any marathons, but I was pretty much back to light-normal activity by Wednesday. [ETA: The incisions for the tubal were tiny and very easy to keep clean] It took me about 10 days before I was 100%. I had very little post procedure pain, but I was very lethargic. My body didn't hurt, but it knew something big had happened to it and when it wanted rest, I didn't have much choice in the matter.
Good Luck with your procedures.
Beth
