anyone out there who's taken this? I'm instructed to drink it at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. I'm wondering when it will start 'working'. Any help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

When I took it, it started working within 15 minutes. I didn't think it was that bad. I chilled it, poured it in a glass and just drank it straight.

Good luck

I took it at 6:30 and it worked around 7:00. Just chugged the whole little bottle and it did the rest. It didn't keep me up either. I was told by others that I wouldn't get any rest the night before my surgery, because I would be stuck in the bathroom. That was not the case, as I slept really well that night and most since. Good luck in your surgery.

It usually starts working very soon. The suggestion to drink it chilled is a good one. Another good idea is to drink it quickly through a straw and you almost don't even taste it.

I'm the oddball. I took mine at 5PM, and it didn't do anything until almost 8PM. I was stressing big time!! But I came to the boards and everybody assured me it would happen. And it did! All night long into the next morning at the surgical center A real pain in the ...

I took mine at 6 pm last night and it didn't start to gurgle until about 9. I had to take my second bottle at 9 p.m. I was up often all night and still going this morning. I did get the grape flavor. They were cold and I poured them over ice. I did use a straw too as suggested. Off to the castle at 10:30. Good luck to you KLW525. See you on the other side.

i took a bottle mixed 1/2a nd 1/2 with sprite at 2pm then another one at 6pm. Nothing happened at all until about 8pm. I was up until about 11 I think. Slept with no problem. Then was up at 4:30 to get to the hospital by 6(an hour drive.) No problem. But I did go once again after I woke up in the morning.

I expected stomach cramps or something...nope. It was fine.

I have the taste of salt. To me the drink is salty.

So I kept mine cold, used ice in it too. then drank it quickly with a straw. (I didn't with the first one, and it was much harder to get down. the second was easy).

FYI, the color of the drink will be reflected in the color of what leaves your bowels. My second drink was red, cherry flavor. I had to stop and remind myself it was just the drink that was red, not bleeding...LOL...

I also found by completely emptying your bowels, it makes the time for your first BM less uncomfortable. (at least for me comparing this to a previous surgery where I didn't empty my bowels)

Good luck.

It didn't really bother me at all - and I'm the type of person who gags at things that taste bad.

But I followed advice that I had gotten on this board - get the grape flavor and make sure it's really cold....I put it in the refrigerator - and then moved it to the freezer about 45 minutes before I had to drink it and downed it with Sprite. It tasted like sweet carbonated grape soda.

I had to take one bottle at 2 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m.

It didn't really start to work until 3 hours after I took the first bottle.

But once it started, I cleaned out really quickly - and it wasn't like I was in the bathroom constantly for the rest of the night.

I think I was pretty much done by 8 or 9 p.m. - but, again, it wasn't like I had to sit on the toilet constantly like I thought would happen.

It really wasn't bad at all.

Thank you to everyone. All the advice really helps. I drink mine at 2 p.m. today and already have my grape flavor in the fridge. I was only instructed to drink 1 bottle...hope thats enough Well, I'm terribly nervous today thinking about tomorrow. Leaving my kids is the worst part. I'll post when I'm home.
