Thyroid problems after surgery

I am only 7 mos. post op.. still have ovaries...and i'm having thyroid problems...headaches, swelling in feet, face, and around eyes...weight gain! Has anyone else had this problem after surgery?

ive had thyroid problems for years but have required a few increases since my surgery. i feel good once the levels are okay. did your dr put you on medication?

Are you keeping a journal of all of your symptoms? Have you contacted your doctor about what is going on so you can have your thyroid checked?

Many of us do find that other health conditions creep up after a hysterectomy so it is a good idea to stay in contact with your GYN and GP!

I had thyriod problems sine I was 16 year old. My account did
change 3 months after my surgery. First it was high then low and
now back up high. I have to go back in two months.

Yes, I developed thyroid problems a few years after my tah/bso. It is not uncommon. Have you had your thyroid tested? It's important to have a complete thyroid panel done to assess the problem. This site has some very good information on thyroid problems About Thyroid You may also want to look at the hormone issue, ie: perhaps your ovaries are putting out too much estrogen, or not enough.
