Just got home from my 6 week check up...

And I'm not very pleased! My plan was to go back to work this week, but I was just told I need to take another 2 weeks off Apparently, my cuff only looks 4 weeks along. He could still see and feel all of the stitches... He was careful to say he thinks it is because of all of the work he had to do with my bowels, my healing must be focused there. And the usual "You are doing too much!" But I'm not doing anything! "Then you are upright too much!" Ugh, I'm so tired of laying down!

Oh well, 2 more weeks off of work, I'm not going to complain. I was just looking forward to the release to resume, ummmm, other activities DH won't be too pleased when he hears today. Poor man, he has been wonderful...

We went over all of my pathology. The only surprise were the fibroids we didn't know I had. Everything else he told me about right after surgery. Good news was nothing looked "ominous" (his word...). No cancer or cancer looking areas!!! I am very pleased about that! And another good news tidbit is that I only have to have pap smears every 5 years! Yay!!! Ah, the benefits...

Dang girl, another two weeks?????????
Well, it is for the best, you want to be healed.

Wonder what I will find out tomorrow regarding the pain I'm having in my ginny. Sigh.

I know, right?!? I was frustrated at first... Then just thought, whatever, who needs money anyway??? lol Now I'm irritated again because I am so sick of laying down. And now my family is giving me a hard time (like MAKING me lay down ALL the time!!!) Ugh.

Let us know how your appointment goes tomorrow! I'm curious to hear what they have to say... Mine hurts right now too. He says in 2 weeks I'll notice such an improvement

congrats skip...
Good to hear your pathology was good. Unfortunately, you have two more weeks. I would enjoy the extra time but too bad money doesn't grow on trees to help out.
I was and am getting a little frustrated at not being able to do what you would like to do while you do have the time off, but you tend to feel it later if you do. So just let your body do its thing and heal properly...listen to your family.
P.S. just wondering how you sisters get those cute emoticons in your text?

I went for a 3 week check up today and asked if she could release me for sex but not housework LOL! She said she wouldn't release me for anything <sigh>. Hope your healing speeds up!

Just got home from my 6 week check up...

Well, I have given everyone a "heads up" at work to let them know I will probably be out for at least one week, if not two. We'll see what the doc says.

I have three hours of left at work and could seriously just drop over!!!

I know that with this next stretch of time off I will HAVE to take it easy if I want to feel better. I am the worst patient in the world.

I've said it before I could break both of my legs and still manage to get around doing the "army crawl" LOL! I can't handle laying down and doing nothing. Not even if I'm medicated.

I don't know how to relax. I don't know how to take it easy. It makes me feel lazy.

Well, skip, YOU take it easy, ya hear? I guess we'll be seeing each other here LOL

I promise to be taking it easy. I just woke up from sleeping for 13 hours! CRAZY! I mean, that alone tells me I'm still healing. Dr. said the fatigue will really ease up once my stitches are all healed up I cannot wait!

Yep, here I'll be! This is one of the few things I'm allowed to do, play on my computer all day

Let us know what you hear today, Jess! I hope you are feeling better today...

Strawberry: There are a couple of ways to get emoticons in text. The easiest way is click the "New Reply" button at the end of the thread. When you do, there is a list of emoticons you can choose from (they will show up to the right of the text box.) If you click the "more" under the few smiles they show you, you will get a whole seperate page of them. All you have to do is click on one and it will show up in your text! Have fun!

Well, skip, if you've been taking it easy during this time and are still healing, I must be a mess inside! I'm terrified of going in today. I am so stressed that the past two days I've had nothing to worry about as far as being constipated.

lol I'm sure you'll be fine... I don't know how extensive your surgery was, but I was a complete mess in there. He had to do a ton of work on my bowels because they were covered in endo. That part is healing really well and he says that my body just hasn't gotten to my cuff just yet And DH informed me last night that he was not at all surprised by what the doc had to say because he thinks I'm a slow healer.

I'd be willing to bet that you'll be told you just need to rest more I can't imagine going back to work full-time... Whew!
