Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Like someone else said in their post-I would LOVE to get reminder emails to help another sister out in pre-op. Is there anyway to get this set up? I think it's a great idea, and I think the participation will grow

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Today I had the chance to visit one our hystersisters in the hospital. I noticed that she was from the same state and privated messaged her. I was surprised to get a reply back this morning telling me the hospital and room number. I was so excited that she was at a hospital in our area. On my way home from a manicure, I stopped at the mall and was able to use my 5$ coupon and make a Build a Bear. My DD and me went to the hospital and had a chance to meet and talk with her. It was nice to get to talk to another Hystersister. Before I left her room, I gave her my home and cell number and told her to call me. I felt a little jealous. She had surgery on tuesday and was hoping to go home today. I guess I was a little baby and stayed 2 days longer than her. If you get the chance to visit a sister that lives close to you, please visit as it can also help your healing process !!

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

This site has been a blessing to me. I have been reading the forums for 3 months before I made a decision to join. I was scared...I admit it. It is difficult sharing all of the private things that have happened to me. The more stories I viewed, the more I became aware that my input may help someone else as I have been so blessed by others sharing their situations. So...here I am...about to share my story in the post-op section.

Thanks Big Sis!

I will make a point to visit the pre-op forums because now that I'm on the other side I see that my fear was definitely more than any of the ups and downs now. Wouldn't want anyone else to scare themself out of making a good health decision. Here goes . . .

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Good morning from the UK to all of you, and especially to anyone awaiting surgery. I know it's hard and scary waiting for an operation - but you will be fine! Yes, you *will* definitely wake up afterwards and remember to rest as much as you can afterwards for longer than you may think you need to. The more you rest in the first few weeks, the quicker you will heal! Also, I definitely think it helps the healing process in the mind to be able to talk about it as much as you want - like debriefing. Good luck and hugs to you all! Kimble
