Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I decided that I'm going to pick myself up and use what I've gone through to scoot around the pre-op forum.

I've also decided that, compared to others, I'm/I've done pretty well. In other words, I've got to get off my dead horse and PERK UP!!!

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I had to make sure I was feeling positive, and well before assisting pre op sisters. In no way, shape, or form, can I be a good sister if I feel uncertain myself.

Week three is looking pretty good today!

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Yes, I totally agree with the other hystersisters this site is a plethora of info. We all have the jitters before such a major operation and it helps when others share how it was for them and what to be concerned about and what just needs to take time. Thank you all for sharing, it certainly is helpful and you don't feel so alone.

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I post responses in the pre-op forum about three days per week...and I posted my 5,000 word daVincia total hystrectomy story about a week ago (it took a while to write, edit and try to remember all the important stuff to include) so I hope many new Sisters will be sure to look at the Stories section!

I do this because so many Princesses returned to the PreOp board and answered my many questions. I gained so much more understanding here than my from surgeon/staff. Sisters are marvelous.

To echo another's response, more doctors should tell their patients about HysterSisters. It ought to be the law!

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I'm 8 weeks post-op and I think I have been on this site every day since I found it when I came home from the hospital. The sisters on this site have helped me tremendously as I have been recovering. I would like to think that I have been able to help some of the sisters on this site that are earlier in their recovery than me. It feels wonderful to be able to give back and give support. This is such a wonderful site for those recovering from the various hysterectomy surgeries. When we stick together we don't feel alone
