Bleeding Post-op, 18 days - Davinci LAVH

I had a Davinci LAVH and kept my ovaries on June 23rd. I had almost no spotting and bleeding after the procedure and today I started spotting and then bleeding. Also I look more swollen that before. Should I be nervous? (I am). I read some of the discussion on here about it...I'm not soaking a pad, but I worry that I did too much yesterday. Should I go to the doctors or wait to see if it gets worse? Don't have discharge, just that post-op funny smell that seemed to lessen when I started eating yogurt. Any advice would be helpful. I'm not sure what to do!

I would give the doctor's office a call and see what they suggest. I know I called the doctor a couple of times to check with them on a few things while I was recovering during my 6 weeks post op.

You might be overdoing. No matter what type of sugery your had, they do the same thing inside and it is major surgery with a lot of tissue in there that needs to heal and this takes time.

I hope it gets better for you.

Bleeding Post-op, 18 days - Davinci LAVH

Hello. I had a Da Vinci, too. The trouble with Da Vinci (the only trouble) as I see it is that the tiny incisions on the surface of our bellies begin to heal, and they heal well. This leads us to believe that things are okay. They aren't okay. We forget we have internal stitches. I know. I broke my internal, vaginal stitches, and the smelly inside parts of "me" started marching on down the track. I needed a cold cauterization in the doctor's office. Was ordered to total bedrest. I should not have done the laundry, lifted my gallon water jugs, and other tasks, thinking I was well. I became puffy and sore, and my whole recovery process was slowed by 3 weeks. Take care of yourself. By the way, I called the doctor's office and the nurse seemed to suggest I was overresponding. By the time I got to my 2-week post-op checkup (when I got the cold cauterization), the doctor asked me why I hadn't called! So trust your instincts here, and make a call and ask to talk to the doc if it seems you are not being taken seriously! Best wishes to you on your recovery!

I had the davinci too may 21, started bleeding at 14 days and it went on for a month before anything was done. My new doctor said since I am so tiny, the davinci was not a good choice for me, that each incision needs to be 10 cm. Please call your doctor and insist on speaking directly to him rather than relay through a nurse,
wishing you a speedy recovery!!!

oh I did the same thing. I went outside and thought it would be okay to sit on the ground and plant some flowers. I could kick myself right about now. I hope I haven't ripped anything. I know what you mean about seeing the outside has healed and thinking you are good to go. I was trying to get the laundry going and sweeping. It didn't hurt so I didn't see the harm, but I wasn't thinking about my internal stiches. I hope I haven't hurt myself. I guess I will find out Tuesday when my doctor returns. Something feels "off" but I"m not in pain. Thank you girls for your replies - it definitely feels supportive! xo
