Way Post op ? re: spotting

I had my hysterectomy last may (2007), recover went well and I have had no real issues. (BTWE, you guys were so very helpful, I was a huge lurker for about 3 months) I kept my ovaries. I am finding that I am a bit more, ummm nicely put, moody though every month but other than that no problems. Maybe less of sex drive but I blame that on being a mom and a wife more than the surgery itself.
My concern is that this morning I found (TMI coming) spotting on my panties. I haven't had sex in at least a few days but I have been having sharp pains just out of the blue for about 2 weeks now (i have no idea if the two are related somehow.)
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Should I be concerned or should I just write this off as one of those freak things that happens in life? I don't want to jump the gun and call my dr. in a panic but yeah after everything (cancer, surgeries, many many freak outs) I do feel a bit of panic.
Thanks in advance
Michelle

I'm sorry you're experiencing this but you're not alone as other ladies have complained of similar problems.

There can be a number of different causes, for example ~ cyclical spotting (although this is usually a regular occurence starting soon after surgery if the ovaries and cervix are kept), granulation, polyp, etc. However, the only way to find out for sure is to contact your doctor, especially if you also have pain.

If you try a Google Search of HysterSisters (towards the top right of every page) you'll find a number of experiences to read through. Here's a link to one thread to start you off: http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...=spotting+year.

Will you let us know what you find out? Sending all good wishes!
