Can I have my life back now??

The saga continues, kind of ironic because I am such an undramatic person. My poor dr. shed a tear with me. I have two docs (GYN and UROGYN) Today 18 weeks postop was my 4th silver nitrate treatment for the granulation tissue.. The smaller of the two spots is gone but the larger is still the same size. I am seeing the pelvic support specialist in 3 weeks and I am praying she will be able to take care of the TOT removal and if the granualtion is still there she will be cutting it out....AAHHHH!! She did prescribe me some percoset today to help with the pain.

Didn't go back to work after my appointment, I traded it for my laptop and bed.

It's been a rough 18 months so far. Anyone else feel they have forgotten what a normal life is like?

(((((Nicole)))))))

I feel your pain honey. I just had my TVT removal done on Friday. Third surgery in 3 years and I am tired of it too. I am so praying this is the end. There is nothing I can do for you but let you know that you are not alone and I am thinking of you.

I'm sorry for the trouble you are having with your healing. And here I've been complaining about having a swelly belly when you are having much greater issues than I am.

I do have a question for you nad mskayjay. I was going to have a TVT done with my hysterectomy but didn't. Were you guys having trouble with it and would this be something I would be better off enduring with pantyliners instead of the sling?

Hi honey! Here is my take on my whole procedure history/story. I absolutely, 100% still believe that have my hyster/cystocele/rectocele/tvt surgery was the best thing for me to do at the place I was at in my life. I have had a very unfortunate run of unforeseen complications, etc that were simply my body's way of reacting to what I had done. I do not believe it is the norm for these procedures. Many, many, many women have the tvt done with no problems. My body did not like the mesh. Odd that my brother had the same type of problem when he had a hernia repair! I talked with my doctor the other day about whether we would have been better off using my own tissue and as he said, who knew this would happen.

My issues and reason for going with the tvt when I did were this.....I walk (walked....haven't been able to with the pain from the encapsulation and hoping to get back at it!) 5-10 miles a day. I got tired of leaking towards the last few miles of my walk and not being able to run at all because I would leak. I am a sexual assault survivor and did NOT want to have to go back and have another surgery so my thought was "once more and done" (I had had one ovary out the year before....nasty story you can read if you seach for my threads) so decided to get it all done and have one big recovery. Would I do it again and do it with my doctor? Absolutely. It was the right choice, it was just dumb luck that it worked out like this, and if I continue to have problems, we'll address them. There is nothing perfect about any of the things we go through in this journey.....its just our attitudes that dictate how we cope. Okay....babbling. PM if you want more info!
hugs

Thanks for your help. I had read about people rejecting the mesh and I think that's what I'm most afraid of. I want the sling but I don't know if I want to deal with the risk of rejection. My friend and my neighbor had the procedure done and both loved it. I guess since I'm already recovering from the TAH, I just don't know if I want to have it done right now.

I was hoping to say goodbye to pantiliners but due to my leakage, I'm still gonna have to wear them.
