Bleeding 1 week post op

I had a TAH on 7/11 with no complications, not even any pain and i have been good up until last night when I started to bleed. It is like having the first day of your period and it not heavy, but it is bright red. I called the doctor and they think it is the stitches breaking down, has anyone out there had the same experience?

Bleeding 1 week post op

Hi. I did have the same experience and it did freak me out too. I am about 6 weeks post op and this last week was the first that I haven't bled since surgery. It was always when I was doing too much lifting or too much running around with kids. Your bleeding should stop too, but if you soak through more than one heavy pad an hour, you will need to check in with your doc. Hope this helps!

Bleeding 1 week post op

I too had my surgery on the 7/11 and had my 1wk post op yesterday. My dr advised me that i should experience some bleeding wk 2-3 when my vaginal cuff stitches fall out or whatever they do, lol. Girl your body is just healing faster than normal (lucky you!). Of course if you experience really heavy bleeding ie.... soaking a pad, then you should call your dr immediately. But sounds like you're heading in the right direction.
