what vitamins to take

My doctor told me the only thing I need to take after TAH is calcium, 1500mg daily. I was post-menopausal when I had my surgery, and did not need hormones. However, that will be something to discuss with your doctor if you begin having symptoms.

As far as other vitamins, I've always been told that they are not needed unless you have a specific deficiency.

Hope this helps -- take good care of yourself!

what vitamins to take

Hi there,

I'm so glad to hear that the forum has been helping you--sure has been helping me along! I also asked a lot of questions about vitamins after my surgery, as I wanted to take a good multivitamin. My doc recommended Centrum (I got the generic for this) and take it once a day--you might want to ask your doc about this too.

Along with that, my doc advised me to take Oscal with Vitamin D 600mg twice a day--again, you should probably ask your doc to be sure...

I wish you the very best for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery--please do keep us posted!

Sincerely, Trish

Same here, calcium 1200 mg. and vitamin D 800 mg. I take Caltrate with D 2 tablets a day.
