Boil/blister type lump above my incision

I have two lumps on my right side just above my incision that looks like a boil or maybe a blister. It is hard and doesn't really hurt.

Could this be some sort of drainage that never drained? Will this go away or do you think it will have to be lanced and drained.

They are at least the size of quarters and are reddish/yellow in color.

As always THANKS for all the wonderful replies!

I had the same thing. one of them on my left side at end of incision just a hair above it. freaked me out. I called docs office told them I told them it didn't hurt or feel hot to the touch. They said just keep an eye on it if it caused pain or got hot go to emergency or call them to come in. It never did, it just slowly went down and faded away. It coincided with a bruise on the right side. Weird thing was both showed up 3 full weeks after surgery.
I would still call your doctor and get docs opinion and keep an eye on it.

I think that calling to let your dr know about it might be a good idea. I feel that it's best to be cautious

Boil/blister type lump above my incision

I had something similar Christy. When I had my staples removed there was redness & the nurse said they were really ready to come out. Once the staples were out I thought the redness would go away, but instead I had small little blisters above & below the incision where the staples were. I called the doctor's office & they told me to put triple antibiotic ointment on them. (The incision was closed)They went away after that. I would call the dr. & describe them.

Thanks ladies. I just returned from the Dr. She said it looks like a tape irratation. ??? I am almost 4 weeks out. Sorta goes along with the irratation of the staples. She told me to not break the blisters.

It also looks like my incision is getting infected in the center. She put me on Cipro.

Thanks for all the help!

Boil/blister type lump above my incision

I had a HUGE blister with redness on the swelly belly above incision...almost four weeks out...doc was worried...called infectious disease specialist, who asked that he drain the blister and culture it to be sure it wasn't a staph infection...three days later...culture came back negative, but he still had me stay on antibiotics...no real change yet...very odd....
