My incision has a small opening 32 days post op

Is it normal for a place on your scar to bleed? I had one last week and this week had a new one today. I called the nurse and she told me to put peroxide on it and keep it clean. Also having more pain but was told my nerves were
reginerating so the pain is normal.

Anyone else have these problems?

My incision has a small opening 32 days post op

I had my incision above the belly button burst open and some old blood came out. No fresh bleeding though. That was at about 1 1/2 post surgery. At 3 1/2 weeks post surgery, I had some clear, yellow fluid drip out of the same incision even though it looked pretty healed. There was a small scar which came loose to allow the seepage. Nothing big at all. I put a bandaid on it to keep it from getting pulled when I bent or twisted. The bandaid kind of kept it from pulling and if it started to pull I could feel it and stop. Hope this helps! Right now, I think I'm doing really well and that the incision is healing up very well.

The outside scar heals long before the inside stuff. I'm definitely healing inside still and I'm wondering if that doesn't make it just as easy to split something open even if it's just a bit. And there are still stitches up to the surface. I can see one in two of my scars. I think they dissolve.

I also had a small opening at about 4 weeks post op. I was told to put peroxide on it. I did and eventually a part of one of the disolving stiches came through it. i showed my DR at the 6 week apt. a bit of white fishing line stuff poking through and he pulled it out and showed it to me. After that I continued to use peroxide and it is healed now.

Part of my incision did not close. Doctor has had DH putting gel wound dressing in opening and putting gauze on to cover to keep moist til incision closes. See doctor tomorrow to see how it looks.

Try not to get too discouraged. Some (((sisters))) just take longer to heal.

My incision took ten full weeks to close completely. I was sure it would never happen but it did.

I've been browsing the forums looking for this issue. I have a stitch that has poked through the incision. Bugging me to death. Now I won't obsess about it too much, just wait for my f/u appt.

Carolyn,
I told my DR I tried to pull it out but it seemed to be attached to something and he said yes it was. It was attaced to my skin. I was glad I waited for him to pull it out. It was a very small piece and fell apart easily. He said it would have eventually disolved on its own but it would have taken a long time so he just clipped it and pulled it out for me.
