Where do the eggs go??

I've been told that after my TVH, keeping my ovaries , I will still release eggs every month and still go through "cycles". My doc said that the eggs will be "absorbed" by my body where before they would go into the uterus etc. etc. and be released through menstration. But now they will be "absorbed"?? Is this healthy?? What are the reprecutions?? Anybody have any stats on that??

Finally - a use for my biology degree.
Our bodies recycle them - we have a family of cells called phagocytes, (which translates as “eating cells”) that gobble up dead cells (and an egg is a cell). The phagocytes digest them and they are recycled into material to be reused by healthy cells.

I had always wondered this myself!

I wish I had phatocytes instead. I could use something that would gobble up fat cells instead of dead cells.

Thanks a million!! It kinda oogged me out, but now that you expained it-I remember phagocytes (vaguely), it makes sense!!
I also wish they'd eat fat cells!!
