Insomnia anyone?
I am almost 4 weeks out and I can't sleep at all. I am off the pain meds, doctor gave me sleeping pills but not wanting to trade one pill for another. Plus I go back to work next week to greet 175 smiling (ha) 9-12 graders. I feel like my legs are restless, I get a little nausea and I just lay there and stare at the ceiling trying not to wake my husband.
Does anyone know how long does this last? I would love to know why I cannot sleep, I'm one of those really heavy sleepers. Plus, when I do finally fall asleep, I have nightmares, new for me completely !
Surfing at 2:09 am.

Insomnia anyone?
Oh yeah. In the last 3 months since my surgery, I've probably had 5 days where I actually got a full night's sleep. It unfortunately seems to be worsening. I was prescribed Ambien and it used to just knock me out and now it's just makes me loopy, but doesn't make me sleep. At least House Hunters is on...

help for insomnia
Oooohhh, the many sleepless nights; maybe we could all add them up together? ha ha
I had my TVH BSO on 5-28 and I can probably count the hours of sleep I've gotten since. So frustrating. I am taking lorazepem (Ativan) in very tiny doses, which is a lifesaver! Started on 0.5 mg, and have taken up to 1.5, which is still a very small dose. No side effects noticed, feel great the next day.
Good luck and I hope you catch some zzzz's soon!
Also, research castor oil packs to the abdomen; sort of a cure-all.

Insomnia anyone?
Well, I am glad to know it's not just me! I am not sure how much longer I can be optimistic and energetic if I don't get much sleep. I hope all of you get aid soon also.
If you find a cure all remedy, please share.
I'll look into teh castor oil packs, I'm always up for new remedies.
Happy healing!

Insomnia anyone?
I'm only one week out from my surgery, but the lack of sleep is driving me nuts. I was sleeping so well in the weeks leading up to it, in spite of the worry, that this is a real bummer. I get only four or five hours a night, and interrupted at that, like waking up every time I turn over. I read somewhere on the post-op advice that warm Ovaltine really helps, so I am going to get some and use soy milk to make it. I can't do any hormones, so I guess I need to use soy and other herbals - still learning about them. I was REALLY looking forward to lots of sleep during my time off work, and I feel cheated!

Insomnia anyone?
I two am only 1 week out of my surgery today and I can't sleep either. My husband and I go to bed and I lay they for hours and hours watchng tv and becoming more and more restless like I should be up doing something else. During the day you would think I would be napping but I am already so darn bored I don't know what to do with myself. I know this will get better but I too just want to fast forward everything but I guess I need to take this time for myself and my healing and I guess it is a time to reflect.
The Best To All on RECOVERY!
