Something strange

I had my second internal radiation treatment Monday. That night I had a dream about a fire around the house I lived in 8 years ago and I was trying to load up my horses, mules and dogs and get out. Tuesday morning I woke up with a sinus headache and sneezing. Well, the same thing happened last week after my treatment. I know they probably aren't connected but it just seems strange that it has happened twice. I don't remember the dream exactly from last week but I do know it was about fire also. Don't see how the radiation could effect my sinus' either, but it just seems strange. I am curious to see if it is going to happen next week for my last one. And so far no side effects, other than the weird dreams.

Something strange

Sometimes, when I'm under stress, I'll have tornado dreams which are very unsettling. No doubt, your treatment is VERY stressful on you both mentally and physically. One theory is that dreams are the way our subconscious "works through" things . . .

(I have no idea about the headache and sneezing, but I hope that resolves itself, too! )

The body and mind are curious things. I don't find it odd that you're dreaming of fire while undergoing radiation treatments. Often people think of being burned or lasers, and that "crispy" feeling we get afterwards sure doesn't help things either! Also, think of being in smoke, that would throw off your sinuses. I've had dreams that were "body memories". My mind would replay something I lived through, and I'd wake up coughing and gasping for air. It's like you relive it all over again.

I kind of thought the same thing about the fire and radiation connection. Maybe somewhere down in my little pea brain I connect smoke with that and wake up with the sinus problem. So far I haven't had any of the "crispy" feelings. The only thing I have noticed is maybe some tiny pains in that area, like mini cramps, very mini. I will have my last one Monday so hoping I don't get any after effects.

Something strange

Since we're talkin' dreams...I have always had weird dreams, and I had some of my best weirdo dreams while taking cancer treatment....
I had a little bit of everything...
One was about Clint Eastwood...(the old Clint, not the young hot buck he was in his earlier movies), and in the dream I was his massuse (or however you spell it, I gave massages), and he wanted me to rub spaghetti and meatballs all over his body...which I did. VERY STRANGE. After the massage he says to me, "Huh. I guess I should have had the Rice Pilaf." I'm not even a Clint fan, but maybe I am a little wacked.
Another dream I had during a very high stressed time during chemo (when we were afraid it wasn't working that well), I had a dream about being chased by mobsters with big guns. I was running and they were right on my heels and shooting at me....I got to this big cliff. There was nowhere to go...in my mind I said to myself, either they are going to shoot me and kill me, or I can jump and hope for the best....as I jumped, a golden ribbon came down from the sky and I grabbed it....and swung to the other side of the revine, I was saved. Then I woke up.
I also chatted with "Death" himself in another dream that I had...which to this day the conversation I had with him haunts me.
So yeah...Dreams...our minds can do some wacky stuff...
Oh, and tornado dreams....they have beena recurring theme of my dreams when I am stressed out. I am usually the first one to spot a tornado, I try to get everyone to safety but they don't believe me that there is a tornado coming....I take cover and everyone else gets blown to whoknowswhere...Kansas maybe?
