Hi Sotherina,

Yes its normal to be nervous!! First Im sure you have spent the majority of your time in recovery in your home!! I dont know what you do for work but make sure you take your time at work and dont rush into the physical part of it. Its nice to get out of the house and get into the norm again. You will most likely be very tired trying to get into the swing of things again, good luck and rest after work.

It is so normal to feel that way. Just remember to continue to listen to your body. And of course don;t try to push yourself to do it all, just because you've had your 6 week, and are cleared for work and other things, you are still healing inside. After thinking I could go back to work like nothing happened, I started to bring my pillow, and more comfortable shoes, and wore elastic waist pants, for my swelly belly, that always starts to pop out after noon.

Yeah it is normal. You don't know how you are going to feel and if you can last the entire 8 hours. It is a whole other ball park to worry about. Let us know how your appt. went.

Yep! I teach and I've been to school several times. I am concerned about how I'll get my room ready and how I'll have enough stamina to make it through a day. And then there is hall duty! EGADS!

Nervous about returning to work ~ is that normal?

I am just returning to work after being off for 3 mths. I am glad that I did not have to return at 6 weeks because I would not have been ready. Actually, I had gallbladder surgery 6 weeks after my TVH and needed another 2 weeks to recover from that. I feel like I can do the job when I return next week. I have been up at the school this week and done some work in my room and my stamina feels fine. It might be differrent when the kids get there and I have to be there for 8 hours. Right now I go up for 2-3 hours at a time.
Do take it easy and listen to your body when you return to work. It is normal to be nervous. Even after having the summer to recover I am a little nervous about returning. I wish you the best and want you to know that your body will return to normal someday. I have to be reminded at times that I had 2 surgeries in 6 weeks. My body has finally recovered and I feel like my "old" self again.
Take one day at a time.

Yeah, my surgeon gave me the green light I'm clear to go back to work without restrictions. I also talked with HR about working short shifts for a while and she's all for it.I'm still a little nervous, but I feel a lot better knowing that I won't have to worry about working full shifts.

Nervous about returning to work ~ is that normal?

At 6 weeks I was very nervous. At 8 weeks I went back. I took it easy when I could. I am a teacher so at this time of the year I control how long i want to be there. It is going very well. I feel much stronger in the morning and by 8 in the pm I am done in But I am so happy to be wthout the pain of my endometriosis. Even being tired and sore beats that. I don't know how I mangaged to teach with that pain.

Nervous about returning to work ~ is that normal?

I'm nervous and I don't go back till September 2nd! I'm worried about how I'll feel. I know for sure I will get getting a note to get a special parking permit issued by my building security. It allows me to park close to the door ... otherwise I'll be hiking up a hill and two flights of stairs just to get INTO the building. I can't see being ready for THAT! I may also ask my doctor for a "work from home" recommendation for my first week back. Hopefully that will go over well.

On the other hand, maybe I'll feel GREAT! But I haven't heard too many that have felt up to a 2 hour round trip commute and a full 8 hour work day at 6 weeks post op. Time will tell.

So yes, it is normal to feel nervous. I think we all are!

Nervous about returning to work ~ is that normal?

I was nervous but also anxious to get back. In fact, I went back just prior to 4 weeks post-op, and it was far too much for me to handle too soon, very stressful job. I made it a 40 hour week and ended up setting myself back a good two weeks in the healing process and was restricted for additional two weeks. That went over like a lead balloon at work.

But I have now worked two 40 hour weeks now.

I am soooooooo incredibly tired. I sleep a lot on my days off, which end up in the middle week, so expect to be tired!

And only do what you are able to do. Don't get over stressed, okay?

Good luck,
Jess
