pellet update

I have now had my 3rd pellet implant (every 3 months) and I am doing great. My estrogen was so low that it wasn't untill the 2cnd implant that those numbers began to go up so I hoping that 3 time is a charm and all the levels will be where they need to be. I sleep better, no hot flashes or night sweats and the sex drive is back. I still have not seen any weight loss but that might start to change as well now that the levels are getting in the normal range.
It is exspensive but it is worth it.......

The pellets have saved my sanity. I am excited they are working for you!! I am in need of some right now-- I will be getting mine inserted in 2 weeks--the hot flashes, night sweets, weight creeping up is driving me crazy but reminds me of how it was before the pellets.
Do you get Testosterone too? I have PCOS so my testosterone is usually high but I am wondering if that would be helpful or hinder my weight loss?

It is expensive but quality of life is SO SO worth it!!

Peace to YOU~

I am glad you ladies are doing so well, the hormone thing can be very difficult to get balanced. I had them and I got way too much estrogen and had some bad side affects at first, but it did level off, I really couldn't tell that they inhanced my life like a lot of women talk about, and right now I just can't afford them, and you also have to have levels checked a lot at first.
I have the simplist regiment now and it seems to be perfect, I was going to see if my insurance would pay for them, but really I couldn't tell that they did much for me, and it didn't help my libido like some women talk about. I use a .05 estrogen patch and testosterone compound and my libido is really good on this. I think my estrogen was canceling out the testosterone while I was using the pellets. It is always great to see someone find a resolution with the hormones.

Patti ,

Just a word of caution concerning testosterone and PCOS.

There seems to be a correlation between the elevated levels of testosterone and elevated levels of insulin, which not only can prevent weight loss, but can also lead to heart disease and diabetes.

It can also be more difficult for those of us with PCOS to get our HRT balanced.

I am glad that you are doing well, however, I really encourage you to find a Dr who is knowledgeable about PCOS to help you with this endocrine disorder.

My endocrinologist has explained to me that it is very important, especially with PCOS, to keep a steady level of estrogen, as fluctuating estrogen can cause the other hormones to fluctuate also in an effort to keep balance :balanc: So, now that you know what level makes you feel the best, you may want to consider finding that level with another method that would allow you more consistancy. For example. When my estrogen levels drop, my testosterone and insulin levels rise.

PCOS is a serious disorder. It needs to be treated.

Susan ,

I hope you continue to do well.

s,
Kay
