Hello sisters
Has anyone tried melatonin for sleeplessness?

Yes, I take a timed release melatonin 3mg nightly.

I've had a terrible time with insomnia since my hyster. It took 2 years to figure out what works. I had to take a sleep aid for that period of time. But now with some hrt adjustments and melatonin, I'm finally sleeping better...thank goodness!

Good luck and may you have pleasant dreams!

Melatonin helped me, but only for a couple of nights at a time. For some reason, if I took it longer it seemed to keep me awake. So, I would take it for two nights, then not take it for two nights, then take it again.....etc. I found that on the two nights I didn't take it, I could still sleep.

We are all different, so you might try different doses too. I actually did better with 1 mg. The 3 mg was too much for me.

Also, it is important to start trying to relax and turn the lights off (or at least low) to give the melatonin a chance. My Dr told me not to do anything that required thinking after taking it.

s,
kay
