How long to get pathology report, how long to leave on steristrips?

I am now 11 days out of TAH/BSO -lymph node removal for endo cancer.

I find that I can sit comfortably in the passenger seat of the car (short trips only) provided I use a small thin pillow between incision and seat belt. helps a lot.

I still have not received my pathology report. any one know how long that takes? the D&C path report only took 3 days. why does this take so much longer? I had to change my second opinion appt due to no report available.

I am now walking 1/2 mile 2 times per day. slowly. 1/2mph.

everyone her talks about staples and stitches. I have glue and steristrips. any idea of how long before these start to fall off?

Eaa-

My doctor said that pathology on my uterus and ovaries would take about 3 weeks, to which I said 'Ah, crap' That's too long for anyone to wait! Hope you have better luck than I! Take care!

My Dr. had the pathology report in 10 days when I had my staples out, I got a copy from him also. Maybe you can call the hospital that you were at and ask to speak to the department that does your pathology and ask them how long it will be before the Dr. recieves it.

As far as your other question I can't answer that as you can see I had staples put in, but I have seen other ladies on here that have posted that they had glue and steri strips. Maybe if you start another post that says question about glue and steri strips for closure it will get responses from them. Happy healing

I would call an ask you doctor about the time frame for the pathology report. Waiting on reports like that is no fun. I am sure they will try to get it to you ASAP. It probably depends on what lab they sent it to. I definitely would call so you have a better idea.
The steristips come off by themselves usually after you are allowed to get them wet in the shower. I had my surgery 3 days before you, and I still have mine too. I am still being careful to keep that area dry.
I have a question for you. How much walking should we be doing. I was used to working out before myTAH. The doctor said no exersize, so I have been trying not to do too much walking. I would love to increase the amount that I do!

You can do as much walking that your body will allow. The exercising that your Dr. said not to do is like the treadmill or weights or anything strenous. So take it easy and walk, that is one exercise that we are allowed to do. Just listen to your baody and rest when you need to.

Had my 2wk ck yesterday and the doc said about 7days for the steri strips. Said leaving them on any longer is like leaving a old band aid on. YUCKY! Hope you get your report soon. I still haven't gotten mine & doc says it could still be another week or so.

Steri strips are just a kind of tape.--not a yucky band aide! I do not recommend taking the tape off your self. My doctor told me to let them come off naturally. So that is what I am going to do. Every doctor does things a little differently!
