anyone take Ambien for sleep?

Hi after 3 days of virtually not sleeping, I'm on Ambien. It works great except I've noticed a little upsetness in my stomach in the morning that usually passes by lunchtime and feeling groggy. Anyone else here take Ambien for sleep? I've spoken to the nurse today who told me to basically watch my symptoms. Hopefully they'll fade.

Yes I was given Ambien because I could not sleep once I got home. I have had no problems on it. You must have at least 8 hours of sleep once you take this pill. I notice if I am awakened like at 7 hours I tend to feel crapy the rest of the day, but if I get 8 hours I feel good. Hope this info helps you. Take care, Lori

anyone take Ambien for sleep?

I took Ambien the first night. When I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night I almost fainted from being so dizzy. Just be very careful walking on Ambien and pain drugs. Make sure your DH is with you get up to walk around.
YES get at least 6 hours of straight sleep when you take it.

anyone take Ambien for sleep?

I had taken it a few years ago after a car accident, I had memory problems while I took it. I could watch an hout TV show and not remember any of it the next day! I got off that quick! Since my TAH I have taken Lunesta to sleep, that works much better for me. No grogginess at all the day

What causes the memory issues? How does it compare with Lunesta as far as how it works?

There is only memory loss if you take it and then not sleep for at least 5-8 hours. When you take it lay down with no distractions (like TV) and fall asleep.

anyone take Ambien for sleep?

I started taking it about two weeks after surgery. I asked my doc (the one who did the surgery) for something to help me sleep. Well, I was told, '"Oh you have to see your family doc for that. We don't give meds for that." Give me a break!! It has helped me bunches. I take it maybe twice a week now..No side effects here.
