HELP!! 4 weeks and noticed a string

I had a stitch that pooped through my incision, it eventually feel off. How long is it??? If it is bothersome clip it off close to the skin, but don't pull on it. Mine was on the left side all the way on the end of my incision.

HELP!! 4 weeks and noticed a string

Hey there sugar90229

I don't remember having stitches or strings hanging out of my incision, but I know that I have read about other experiencing similar things - just like the ladies that have already replied.

But remember that there is no harm in calling the if you are unsure about something. We all have similar things in our recovery but we also have some things that are very specific to our situation.

Just my , when in doubt, pick up the phone and give the a call.

Blessings on you ....

HELP!! 4 weeks and noticed a string

I had a TAH and also noticed a string protruding out of the right-most side of my incision. My Dr. explained that there was a zig-zag stitch just under the skin along my incision and the string that I saw was the "tail" after he knotted it. It's really no big deal and does indeed fall off. When my fell off I took it as a good sign that the stitches were dissolving as planned.

HELP!! 4 weeks and noticed a string

I'm glad I found this thread! I'm 4 weeks post op tomorrow and yesterday after shower noticed a small white string at incision. It wasn't at the very end of incision but close, next to where a staple was removed. Anyways I didn't want to mess with it so I got dressed and we went to town and when I came home I checked and it was gone.
I thought I had read about this before on here but glad another thread was started.
