4 mm breast lump

Hi, I had my total hyst. 7/21/08 thought I was so done with Dr's. Yesterday I discover a lump in my breast.Went to Dr. and he believes it to be nothing.Has anyone had any cyst or anything that was nothing to worry about. Hormones?? In June I had a mammo, and ultrasound and all was well. Any ideas. I am waiting for my insurance to approve a MRI.
Hope everyone is getting better everyday.
As far as my surgery all went well and my only problem thus far is sleep. I just got a script for AmbienCR .
Thanks

Yes, I have had that happen. My doctor was right, just cysts. It's happened several times to me and was always nothing. It will be for you too.

4 mm breast lump

Hi Merlot,

I have 'been there, done that'. It's a nightmare of worry while it's happening, but my experience has been that it's always been nothing. Every year I go for my mammogram and they see 'something' suspicious. About 2 weeks after the mammo I get a letter saying "you need a bi-lateral breast ultrasound...." So I go for a ultrasound. It ends up being nothing.
Last year I went to a breast surgeon so we could see what she thought about this. By the time I got to her and had another sonogram, whatever cyst they saw on other images was gone.

I have very dense breasts along with some calcifications, I think, and this causes a need for follow up. Frankly, I'm almost always sure it's a big nothing with nothing based on my history, but am always thankful they are following up so closely and erring on the side of caution.

I hope your issues turn out to be no big deal..but I'm glad you are following up on it!
Let us know how things turn out. In the meantime, try not to worry. I know...easier said than done.

Thank you for your response. Iam waiting til hopefully tomorrow for AVMED to approve. Now that I am thinking not sure if it is my history and my mom died of breast cancer that my dr wants a MRI instead of a needle biopsy??
