Post OP Visit Today

I went this morning for my first 6 week check up. All my DD did was look at my incision (its really pretty) and did a pelvic exam that took about 15 sec. He said I was healed internally and am cleared to go back to my normal routine. I told him that I feel wonderful. He said in 6 months I'll be even better. The best part is that he could tell that I had lost weight. Now that I feel like I have more energy, I am going to continue to work on weightloss and better health.
I am very fortunate to have such a great doc. who has been fun and encouraging through this whole ordeal. I read where some ladies have had a hard time with their physicians. I couldnt imagine not having someone who is supportive and upbeat during a time like this. It has made it so much easier for me. The cool part is that he delivered my daughter 16 years ago and they had never met until the day of my surgery. He told her he didnt remember dropping any babies on their heads in 1985!! She said he was a neat doc. and when its time for her to start going for her gyn checkups he is who she wants to go to.
Here's to all the wonderful doctors out there who understand womens issues and go out of their way to make sure we are comfortble with the decisions we have to make!!

I'm so glad you have such a great doctor! I wasn't that fortunate, but I am very glad you were!

Also, congratulations on feeling great and being cleared to resume your normal routine! One word of caution, however. I hate to nag (actually, I love it - ask my hubby ), but please keep in mind that being released to normal activities means you can start EASING back into normal activities. Take it slow and easy, and see what you can do and what may still cause soreness and swelling.

Happy healing!
