ovarian cancer 30 years after hyst?

Has anyone ever heard of someone getting ovarian cancer about 30 years after a total hyst? The hyst was not for cancer, it was a benign condition. My sister is having some belly issues, and is scheduled for a CAT on monday. But of course, since I have had ovarian, I can't help but think it. Am I just being a cancerhead?

It is possible to have ovarian cancer without having ovaries, although the length of time between the hysterectomy and the stomach issues seems to make that outcome improbable.

If cancer cells were missed during the hysterectomy it is possible that they have been dormant and now have attached to the abdomen -- however, very, very unlikely -- at this point.

I know you are worried, but you really can't do anything until the CAT is completed -- more than anything, it will be some totally unrelated condition.

Primary Pertotenial Cancer....treated the same as Ovarian Cancer. Even after they remove our ovaries, we still have perotenial cells. Although the chances are very slim...yes, someone that has had a hysterectomy can be diagnosed with OvCa.
