96 hours and counting...

Well, all this time that I have been trying to rush is now over. I go in around 10:00 a.m. on the 17th. I have TWO enemas to do-- yuck. One the night before and the other the morning of surgery. I have no clue what that will be like... any pointers? My do said to do that thing over the toilet and hold it as long as possible. We'll see if I am that acrobatic!!

The house and kids are not a concern, hubby is fairly good at all of that. Thank god. I think I trained him well. A good cleaning of the bathrooms and a de-cluttering of the bedroom is all I really need to do. We got a new tv for the bedroom and I got some 400 thread count sheets. The cupboards and the garage freezer are jam packed. We have diapers for a good three weeks.

I will go to work Monday and Tuesday, no need to have more time to obsess about it. Even that is going to be wierd, I am in the midst of a promotion and will be packing up my office and weeding through things.

My mood is wierd. I am sort of calm, just trying to kill time in a way. I was on celexa for a couple months after I had my youngest (brief post-partum) and it feels like that, a calm falling through me. Almost like the end of a first glass of wine. Also, I am scared that something will happen in surgery and for some reason I keep thinking this is ELECTIVE surgery. Anybody else have that feeling? Like I could just not do it, of course then my internal chick parts would eventually hang out and all, but I wouldn't be taking this risk. I have two beautiful boys, a 6 year-old and an 18-month old, and the youngest is really starting to have a charming personality. The thought that I might never see them again is making me second guess all of this.

Anybody else freaking out? I am not sure that is what I am doing, but this is just wierd. Anticipating a new beginning, my 6 weeks will be taking care of the new me instead of an infant.

Suggestions, experience -- all is greatly appreciated.

I havent ever had an enema so I cant shed any light on that for you. I have done bowel preps before and they are yuckie! Dont go far from the toilet. Oh, and you might want to have some baby wipes or tucks pads had. Sometimes those are more soothing after a few rounds than toilet paper. TMI, I know, LOL.

Guess we'll have to postpone the "burning of the maxi-pad" party We have baby wipes here, I will have to swipe them from the changing table. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi, I spent three months before surgery planning to cancel it because I couldn't believe I needed it. The last month I had lost quite a bit of weight, scared myself with stuff I read, then suddenly knew I had to have the surgery absolutely and completely. Just happened. I'm worried you're not taking really enough time to be with yourself! I know it may be impossible with such an incredibly full plate as yours. But it sounds like maybe a few minutes might be possible?
The night before my surgery (one week ago tonight) I actually looked in the mirror gave myself an appreciative glance. I had by a miracle discovered this website the week before and the help I received here (and the concern) calmed my biggest fears. (I could cry thinking about this now!)
My surgery went great, better than expected (I was able to keep the ovaries).
I wish you the best, too. Hope to know how things went whenever things calm down after you're home.
