Is Nausea a side effect of Vivelle Dot?

I've been very nauseated all day long today. Today was patch change day and I've also had my first REAL hot flash. OMG, I don't ever want to do that again, thank you! I spent some time over the toilet with the dry heaves that killed my incision! Talk about pain!!!! I'm hoping that by tomorrow my patch will kick in better and I won't have this nausea as I suspect it is caused by the decrease in hormone since it was patch day, but I am new to the HRT world and have tons of questions.

Yeah, nausea can be a side-effect of any knid of HRT. But it can be from any other number of other things, too, including bacteria/virus, healing, or pain meds. If it continues, call your DR. S/He may need to adjust the dose, or find the source if it's not from the dot. As far as it being patch day, since the dot is designed to release estrogen evenly over the course of wear, it is unlikely that you had a problem with the level changing.
