enlarged fallopian tube and more

After an MRI the dr. says I have an enlarged fallopian tube which she wil remvoe with laproscopic surgery. But she says I also MAY need a hysterectomy if the tube is cancerous. I guess they can determine that right away because they said the hysto would be done at the same time as the lapro. Has anyone else had this diagnosis, where you are going in not knowing whether it will be a hysto or not? Ellen

if your dr suspects your fallopian tube or anything else might be cancerous, you should see an gyn/oncologist.
another option is to have the lap surgery to removed the tube and make a decision after about a hysterectomy. there are a lot of different types and if you do need one, theres different reasons to have certain ones.

I was not in your situation but just wanted to say hi and that I hope everything goes well for you on 10/1 and they find the hysterectomy isn't necessary.

Can't find my post from yesterday. Next Wed. I will have either just a d&c with hystoscope and removal of fallopian tube, OR a TAH BSO. If there is cancer in the uterus it will be the latter and I must be prepared for it. She says there is less than 50 % chance of cancer but its hard not knowing what will happen until I wake up. MRI shows an enlarged tube and a mass in the uterus that may be just blood and fibroiods, she can't tell. Of course I want her to do the TAH if it is at all suspicious.
Thanks to the 2 posters who replied yesterday. I know I could have waited either way, on the TAH but I feel I am doing the right thing.
