Steri-strip leftovers

Hello sisters!

Has anyone figured out a good way to get rid of that annoying sticky stuff that is left over and turns dark when you rip off the steri-strips covering your incisions? I tried nailpolish remover and it doesn't work very well and is really too drying to the skin.

Any ideas?

My doctor gave me some stuff to get the steri-tape off. It was a disolving type liquid that didn't hurt my stitches. Call your doctor and see what he recommends. I've seen stuff like it at "health supply" type stores. Good luck, I know that stuff is annoying. If you just pick off a little at a time it will eventually all be gone.

Baby oil may help you. I use a little on a cotton ball to take off the leftover adhesive from my HRT patch.

I was an RN for 20 years. The medical adhesive remover we used in the hospitals was closely related to nail polish remover. Use just a tiny bit on a cotton ball. DO NOT get this on your incision. Hope this helps.
