Hi Ammy!

My pathology report came back as "everything benign," too. From reading thousands of posts here on the Hystersisters.com site through the years, I get the impression that's more often the case than the report showing something sinister, like a malignancy (cancer).

I hope you continue to have a good recovery.

dysfunctional bleeding is still a condition and if the surgery cured you of it and you are feeling good, dont worry about what the path report shows.

response and question - path report

Congratulations! My came back 'normal' as in nothing malignant also.

However, I am confused by my path report - my ultrasounds had shown a fast growing, large (9.6 cm.) fibroid - the path report makes no mention of this whatsoever. It reports multiple fibroids .5 - 3 cm. in size. Could they have all been in one mass under the lining or in the wall together? I have never heard of that.

I do have a post-op coming up and will ask but must wait a week, so if you have experiences like this, please do let me know...

I too had a completely normal path report. I had been experincing long and intermenstruall bleeding, aching down the backs of my legs prior to menstruation, nasty cramps that would wake me in the middle of the night, and heavy clotty periods, all while on oral contraceptives. Doc assured me that while the girlie parts were normal, my symptoms were NOT. I had TVH on 31 Jul 08 and have recovered well. My quality of life is sooo much better! Now I'm just thankful I get to wear pretty panties again and don't lose 3-4 days a cycle.

Ammy- I don't think it could have shrunk; my last physical exam in which the doc expressed alarm at it's size was only around 2 weeks b4 surgery. Also, I had had this same fibroid growing on ultrasounds for years!

I think it is good that you are requesting your lab report; it's what I did although I had a little trouble getting it at first, I was glad to have it. Let us know how the report is if willing.
