Odd Scar Tissue

Hello,

I had mesh removal surgery on April 10th and everything went pretty well. Now, my major issue is that at the cuff, some scar tissue formed in a weird way. You know that little thing under the tongue, well, that is how the scar tissue formed, only in a bigger way. At the far end of the vagina, there is this wall down the center and I can feel all the way to the cuff end on either side of it. I have been trying physical therapy to soften and make it more flexible and that has helped a little, but I am afraid it will not help all the way and I will have painful sex forever! My insurance will not cover any more physical therapy, so any more PT appointments will be out of pocket.

Has this happened to anyone else? What do you think will happen if I have more surgery to remove the scar tissue that is causing these issues? I am making an appointment to see my surgeon and get his advice. I just wanted to know what do you ladies think of this and if you have any advice for me. Thank you!

Odd Scar Tissue

{{{Patricia}}}--

I haven't heard of this personally BUT I think it's the right move to contact your surgeon to find out more about having it removed. If it's large and interfering with intercourse, then it makes sense to find out about removing it.

The questions I would ask would be, "Would removing this just cause more scar tissue to form?" "Do I have a tendency to form scar tissue unusually (a keloid condition)?" "Do you think further surgery would solve this problem?" "Is there anything else I can do to help resolve this?"

I truly hope you find relief ASAP. Sending extra +++ thoughts and good vibes.......

Thank you so much OrahDeb! Those are great questions to ask and I will certainly add them to my list.

This scar tissue is like a thin band, but it hurts so much and makes me feel 'shorter' then I know I am! Doc said he has never seen anything like it. I always seem to have weird things happen to me! (This too shall pass...)
