Need info on successful Hyst with Endo Only

Hi All,
I'm new here. I'm very greatful to find this site. I am looking for input on having a hyst with just endo. I want to know the successes and failures. I have endo and alot of scar tissue from my Lap that I had done 4 years ago. I have never been pain free but I guess I just thought that I had to just deal with pain. I am currently on my 3rd lupron shot and very ill from it. I have a second lap scheduled but I have spoken to my doctor about changing it to a hysterectomy. He told me to take the weekend to think about it. I have been researching all weekend. This is the best site that I have found.
Just to let you know a little about me: I'm 35, never been married, no children and no prospects, but I do have a very promising career. I have never had a strong desire to have children and always had a feeling that I couldn't. I have been in pain since the beginning. I find that I am depressed all the time. I have no energy to exercise and my lower back pain is constant. Its an effort just to clean my house. I just don't want to spend another 10-20 years in pain. I want some relief. I want to be able to enjoy life and participate in it.
But atlas, I do realize that this decision is final. No Changing your mind once its done. I'm just not sure if I can handle another Lap that doesn't give any relief and suffering for years before anyone believes me. (I was still in pain after my first Lap and the doctors convinced me it was my gallbladder. They removed that 6 months later. I still have very similar pain.) I am seeing a infertility specialist and he would prefer that I do the lap. But I feel that I may be able to keep my ovaries if I catch my endo sooner than later.
Well I'm rambling on now, so I'll stop. If you have any advice or words of wisdom please respond or email me directly at rapture@frii.com.
Thanks, its nice to be heard.

Hi Rapture Welcome to Hyster Sisters. I'm so happy you've found us.

I moved your post to the Post-Op board, where you're most likely to find answers to your question.

You can also do a "search" on "endo" and visit the Princesses Tell Their Stories - Endo/Adeno Stories message board where you'll find the Hysterectomy stories of 's who've battled with Endo and Adeno.

Wishing you the best of luck in your quest for answers. Whatever your decision, we'll be with you every step of the way.

All is well....

Dany,
I am 26 and had a hyster 4 weeks ago for endo and have been pain free from it for 4 weeks.I was diagnoised with endo 10 years ago and finally said enough is enough.I was itred of having constant pain.I wanted my life back.I just wanted to let you know a few things to consider when making the desicion to have the surgery due to endo.Endo can still grow back even after a hyst.Expecially if you keep your ovaries.I had everything taken out.It is a small chance of it happening but there is a chance. And if there is any doubt in your mind that you may want kids in the future, think long and hard. This is a Major surgery and once it is done, its done. You said that you were seeing an infertility speacialist? Is this to try and get pregnant?I would start doing alot of research on a hyst for endo and read, read, read. This is a major decision and wouoldnt want to see anyone make the wrong one.Good luck and i hope you find many pain free days.
