Painful Attempt At Sex

Hey guys me and my Dh decided to try the deed, after DR approval of course, well when he attempted to penetrate I nearly fainted! I screamed and jumped up and said no no no. It was so bad. I had been wearing panty liners so I dont know if it was the stinging from where the panti liners left my lips dry, because I was well not dry vaginal, or if it was the swelling of the vaginal canal. Because it felt like I was very tight. I dont know what do you girls think? I am thinking I will wait another 6 weeks! LOL!

I'm sorry that you experienced this -- I think you should check with your doctor about this. Did the speculum exam hurt? Maybe you need some lubrication, and to be in control of penetration? But definitely ask your doctor.

Painful Attempt At Sex

Hi Kelly!

I am sorry to hear that your first attempt at post-op intercourse was not a positive experience. What you described is not uncommon for early post-op hysterectomy patients. Did you know there is an entire page designed to help members with their post-op sexual activity concerns? It’s located here:

Post-Op Sex Checkpoint

Do yourself a favor and take a read there! You will discover lots of information covering many sexual concerns post-hysterectomy patients have. Every patient’s recovery situation is unique based on the reason for surgery, the type of hysterectomy they had, and other factors.

Remember: Just because your doctor releases you to resume intercourse doesn't mean you have to do it. Listen to your body. It it hurts, it probably means that you're not ready just yet.

Many s and Best Wishes,

Painful Attempt At Sex

Hi Kelly

Really sorry you had a bad experience and I kn ow that you have been cleared by the Dr but are you sure you are ready? I had my hysterectomy on Aug 16th and recovered without incident or set back but my Dr only gave me the all clear at 7 weeks.

I wrote yesterday on another thread about my 1st experience and it wasn't perfect but I am prepared to try again! I had a huge problem trying to relax which doesn't help.

I hope your DH is patient and understanding as I am sure you will get through this in time. In the mean time how about fooling around without actual penetration so that you can become more relaxed.

Hugs

Katy

I am sorry you had a bad experience. Remember you are still healing and you might still need time. Talk to your dr and see what he says.

Painful Attempt At Sex

I just want to add in caseany preop ladies are reading, that under no circumstances have I regretted having my hysterectomy, I would do it all over again. Having sex again is going to take time, and just because my first practice didnt go well doesnt mean I regret my decision.

Sorry just had to say that because I know when I was preop I remember reading some horrible stories and wondering if the ladies regretted their decision.

I was trying to be on top so I could have more control of the situation, but to be honest with you, I didnt really want to do it because I was a bit scared, so maybe I just need to relax. I almost bought KY today, but that stuff use to give me a yeast infection before, and besides my DH said, ÿou really dont need that, you really dont. so I guess I was well lubricated, LOL!
