Bladder issues with LSH

Hello, all

My LSH is scheduled for Nov 10. I was speaking to a coworker yesterday (she had a hysterectomy about 2 years go, not sure if LSH). She said to ask if my bladder will be suspended. Neither one of us knows what this means. She says her surgeon attached her bladder to her stomach (??) and now when she has to go, it's a very small amt. Once she has to go, she can't hold it, has to go right away, and laughing and sneezing can cause some leakage. She was told she likely has to have another surgery to correct this. My question: what does suspending the bladder mean? Has any of you had problems with incontinence or other issues with your bladder after LSH? I need to have an idea of what to ask the surgeon at my pre-op appt.

Bladder issues with LSH

if you have leakage or a problem holding it in now, your dr might talk to you about fixing it. otherwise, i dont believe anything is done with the bladder during a routine lsh. i had some bladder issues after surgery but they went away. i felt like i had bladder infections alot and i didnt always have them..i think it was just an irritable bladder from the surgery and the catheter. it wasnt anything to complain to my dr about though and it did go away.
good luck..this surgery is amazing!
