Bladder issues - what is wrong with me?
I went to bed last night at 11:00 and by 2:00 I had been up 5 TIMES to pee! And again at 4:00 am. Is this normal? Also, sometimes I feel like I have to go SO BAD and I get in there and I can't go. I never realized I'd be having problems with this. Is this normal? Nobody said anything to me about urinary issues when I left the hospital.

Bladder issues - what is wrong with me?
You may be at the beginning of a urinary tract infection. I developed one 3 days after my cathater was removed. It became so painful I was almost in tears. Urine was cloudy and frequent. Thankfully I went to the dr. and was placed on cipro. Within 12 hours the pain was better. For several nights I was still feeling the need to go every 2 hours. It has been 5 days on med and I can now go 3-4 hours at night. If you have pain don't wait too long to get medication. Hope this helps.

Definately an infection of some sort, could even be cystitus.
Think you need a Dr quick before this sets in and makes you really poorly :-(

Check with your Dr. I was in the bathroom literally every 10 minutes and it just trickled out. I called the dr and he prescribed vesicare. That helped a lot. Then I had pain and it is not an infection. It is just an irritation. Hurts really bad but not every time. I could not believe it was not an infection. Still dealing with it but since I know it won't get worse, I will wait it out.

I've been peeing a lot too ( but have also been drinking a lot) if I wait too long to pee (especially waking up with a full bladder) it will hurt and trickle out. I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens EVERY time you go to the bathroom. If it happens everytime, be sure to drink more water, cranberry juice and call your doctor if it gets worse.

I am getting better getting up ever hr to every 2hrs 2nd week I get up ever 4 hrs. I realized I was drinking to much water all hrs of the day so I knocked it off with the drinking water after 6pm. Works great ! I have been getting up every 4-5 hrs to pee for the past 2 days. This is my second wk of post op. Good luck & do not get discouraged! Isa : )
