1 year out and possible more surgery

Well, its been a year since I had my TAH/LSO Oct 23, 2007. Now I'm having alot of abdominal pain and have had lots of tests. Gyn thinks endometriosis is back severly and wants to remove right ovary, as much endometriosis and as much scar tissue she can. Diff gyn than last one. Lots of problems w/ last surgeon and left practice to someone I was referred to. Really like new gyn, just worried and scared to have more surgery. What would this surgery be called sine I already had TAH/LSO?? Shes hoping to di it laproscopy but wont know until shes in there. I'm honkerblonked, scared and nervous. In March I had vaginal bleeding and no one can tell why. So in June went on Lupron absouletly hated it . I was very much a ***** and hated to be around people and gained weight. Since last Aug I've lost 48 lbs and dont want to gain weight back. I've been through lots of tests and just want an answer.

Please help!!!

I am sorry you are dealing with pain again and facing surgery! Is your current surgeon an endometriosis specialist? Will she be removing the endometriosis via excision? Hopefully she will be able to perform the surgery via a laparoscopy rather than a laparotomy! So far I have been able to have all of my surgeries via laparoscopy, but I still have both of ovaries -- they have been able to clean them up each time!

While you are waiting for surgery has your doctor offered you suggestions for managing the pain and symptoms? How about progesterone or a birth control pill? Pain management?

I wish you all the best and hope the surgery is successful for you!

Oh, if you have your right ovary and tube removed, you will be having a RSO -- right salpingo oophorectomy.

She is doing the best considering what she has to work with...lol! She's hoping to do it laproscopy and remove ovary, as much endometriosis and scar tissue that she can.
I already had my right tube removed last hyster 10/23/07. All I have left is right ovary thanks to an idiot MALE gyn.

Thanks for all ur help and support.

I'm so sorry you're going through all of this!

To answer your question, the removal of your ovaries would be a bilateral oopherectomy.

I didn't see a profile in your listing, how old are you?

Well, all tests came back normal. Looks like I'm having surgery Jan 2, 2009. I have surgery consult and consent with gyn Dec 10. Not looking forward to it completely, just looking for pain to go away. I'm scared because I don't know what to expect afterwards. I'm nervous about my wonderful sex life with my husband of almost 17 beautiful wonderful years. He was great the first time around, hopefully he'll be the same this time. Will I still be aroused and orgasmic?? Just worried.
