new here...intimacy question

Hi,
I guess this question must come up alot, but I couldn't find answers that are ok with me. Please point me in the right direction?
I had a mastectomy in April, and have just had a full hysterectomy Sept 18. Just tried having sex for the first time, and nothing, no orgasm. I was 'one of the lucky ones', was multi-orgasmic, and also quick to get there as well. Afterwards, I even tried to stimulate myself to orgasm, (always a sure bet), and nothing then either. I don't want to panic, but this is not what I was expecting. My desire level is fine, I get wet, but no orgasm. Am I jumping the gun?

I'm hoping someone might get back with me. Like I said, I am new here, and this is my first visit to the page. Can you point me in the right direction, please?
Thanks,
K

I had a similar problem, but resolved in time.

I had a TAH/BSO in Nov. '07. I had complications, so I was unable to have sex for about 6 weeks. At first, nothing. I was silently scared that the pleasures would never return. But about two months after that things started happening for me. A matter of fact, things have REALLY improved. It's been almost a year now and, although I am still suffering from complications, my sex life is better now than before the TAH/BSO !!! !!! !!! My orgasms are stronger and last longer than ever before. :roll2: I'm not sure if it was the hysterectomy that caused it or the hormone patch, but I like the results. Give it some time - the fear, stress (panic) may make things worse. RELAX and if things don't improve, talk to your doctor.

new here...intimacy question

It takes a little while before things get back to "normal" I know with me, my tummy would get sore and sometimes I would have to quit on my quest for a orgasm that day. That is when the vibrator came in handy and my hubby would help.

new here...intimacy question

Hi,

I'm still waiting for the all clear before getting intimate with hubby. One of my friends recommended that I have a glass or two of wine to make sure my nerves weren't interfering.

Not sure if you drink alcohol, but if you do you may want to try that as long as it doesn't interfere with any meds.

Good luck,
Sandra

Good luck

Have you been released to have sex already? I had a SAH on Sept 19....

I have not been released as of yet, I think you may be jumping the gun, and possiblily have been mentally thinking that you may not have the same feelings and therefore have not..................?

But again, I think you are a little soon on this.............completely

Give yourself some more time and try not to worry.

update

Hi, and thanks for your kind responses.
No luck yet on the big O...
I just had my second reconstruction on my left breast, so I'm out of commission for a while longer. Maybe this is a good thing, because I was probably trying too hard sexually, and maybe too early, as a couple of you suggested.
I hope it was not an inappropriate question.
Take care all,
& get out there and VOTE!
